The Fine Art of China Painting

Porcelain painting, not to be confused with ceramics, is a fine art that has been around for thousands of years. Painting on porcelain pieces of white or ivory color with powered paints that are mixed with mineral oil to the consistancy of tooth paste are applied one layer at a time after each firing in a kiln.
China painting is the sister to watercolors - starting with your lightest to darkest. If you are interested in learning this ancient dying art contact us at wetpaintstudiosofwalden@ gmail.com. We would love to share our knowledge and fellowship with any one interested in this fine art.

DECK THE HALLS

Our Christmas party at Pappadeoux was filled with festive cheer and holiday spirit.  Pictured is  President Marilyn,  all aglow with her daughter Kathy and son, Charles Willis, Minister.  Charles lead us in prayer, songs of the season and filled the room with laughter.
Guests and members enjoyed lunch, our sale table and mystery auction.  The ever so popular mystery auction was conducted by retired auctioneer Robert Mc Coral.  He  added a dash of fun  and authenticity to  the bidding.   Our annual mug exchange was a big hit with everyone.  Even guests received mugs.  Ladies you all out did yourselves this year!
We had beautiful painted pieces, and the sale table and auction were a great fund raiser.!.  Thanks go out to everyone there!

May the New Year bring you nothing but love and joy!

Lady in Rose Hat  Painted by Lois Blackburne

Club Display at August Meeting

Big Thicket August Meeting At Conroe Library

Lois Blackburn and Linda Williams are busy painting a study of a Victorian woman by artist Jane Marcks.  We all worked on this  together and are ready for our first fire.  Jan Wamsley manned her lap top and DVD as we painted step by step.  Can hardly wait to see the finished  products.  We are all off to a great first fire!
What a wonderful thoughtful surprise we received from Lois when she presented each of us with a well stuffed "Goodies Bag." We all thought Christmas had arrived in August, never mind 95 degree temp, the snow was falling!  Each bag contained a painted piece by Wanda Clapham, french paint brushes, a mired of paints, prints of Mark Clapham's Golden Girls and Wanda's New Grape Book on Painting Grapes!  Thanks Lois.
The Snow kept on falling and Santa came again in the form of Linda Williams, who so graciously gave each of us a 6 piece place setting of white china trimmed in platinum!  Thanks Linda.
