The Fine Art of China Painting

Porcelain painting, not to be confused with ceramics, is a fine art that has been around for thousands of years. Painting on porcelain pieces of white or ivory color with powered paints that are mixed with mineral oil to the consistancy of tooth paste are applied one layer at a time after each firing in a kiln.
China painting is the sister to watercolors - starting with your lightest to darkest. If you are interested in learning this ancient dying art contact us at wetpaintstudiosofwalden@ gmail.com. We would love to share our knowledge and fellowship with any one interested in this fine art.

Catching Up With BigThicket Porcelain Art Club

2014 - 2015 President Janet Wartenburg
Big Thicket has been busy all summer getting ready for the up coming Holidays.  Our auction and Christmas Party will be at Pappadouxs in The Woodlands, Dec 4, 2014.  This year's main pieces for auction were beautifully done by Helen Turner, a gorgeous floral vase and Jan Wamsley a magnificent clock. They have both done a wonderful job - as well as all the members who have painted night and day on pieces for the sale table. There will be painted crosses, necklaces, and cups and saucers for purchase. We are all looking forward to, and are excited about, the quickly approaching season to be jolly!

36 x 36 Oil on Canvas By The very Talented Lois Blackburne.  Lois will be giving a seminar in January at Jan's Home.  We will be painting roses on a large tray and are very excited about learning from Lois.
